Buxa Tiger Reserve is situated in Alipurduar District of West Bengal. It comprises of the entire erstwhile Buxa Forest Division (702.44 km2), and a part of Cooch- Behar Forest Division (58.43 km2). The Reserve lies between north latitudes 26°30′ - 26°55′ and east longitudes 89°20′ - 89°55′.
This is a very short trek in Buxa hills of Sinchula Range (Bhutan Himalaya). This is a moderate trek and for the beginners. Through the trek one will very close to the nature. Birding and study of butterfly is the main attraction of the trek. The warm hospitality of the Dukpas makes you happy.
Santrabari (a weekly market): NBSTC bus stand for only on Wednesday; Get down from
your Transport; have a guide; starts trek for Buxaduar 5 km (45 mins). May get porter
from here or hire a local vehicle up to Zero Point (2 km) from here.
Please note that you will be trekking through the Buxa Tiger Reserve Forest and Bhutan
border. There is no Medical Unit and no luxurious facilities are available in the Home
stays.
