Buxa Tiger Reserve lies in the north-east corner of West Bengal and is contiguous with the forests of Greater Manas Sanctuary, the buffer zone of Manas Tiger Reserve of Assam, and other Reserve Forest areas along the Indo-Bhutanese border.
Most of the reserve lies in the plains; only the northern tracts are hilly and the northern boundary follows the Bhutan border. There is continuous forest from the plains to nearly 2,000 m at the border, and forest cover probably continues to the 4,066 m Tale La in Bhutan.
This trek is to explore the hidden hamlets on the lap of nature in Buxa Dolomite Hill series of Sinchula Range, Bhutan Himalaya. A round trek through the Hills, gorges, valleys and dense Tiger Reserve forest will leads you very close to nature. The thrill to cross the Asian Elephants corridors is not lesser than to learn the untold story of Dukpas (the ethnic group).

This trek route is through the Reserve forest in Indian part of Bhutan Himalaya which helps you to understand the Birds, insects, plants, History, Culture, Buddhism and Wilderness. Raimyatung is a hill forest village located on the Raimyatung river valley and known as ‘Birds Valley’.
After Raimyatung where some Sarki and Chhetri people of Nepali communities resides one have to trek through the land of Dukpa. Dukpas are the original inhabitant of this region since bi-gone past who are still semi nomadic and seasonal migratory group by nature and tradition. Pokhri is an example their temporary settlement.
The Chunabhati is the only weavers’; Village of Dukpa Handicrafts and also famous for the first Drukpa Kagyupa Goempha in Dooars. Chunabhati is known to the World for the age old Finnish Mission Church. Buxa Fort still bears the witness of Indian Freedom movement in Pagsamkha or Buxa (Baksha) where the Heritage Post Office located on the highest point of Dooars. Lapchakha is the most beautiful village in Dooars also known Paradise of Dooars.
Tashigang being a small village is placed in the International Bird Network list for its Bird population. Rupang valley is the most popular place to the Trekkers and Pumtsey La (means highest barren pick) is the highest (6250 feet) in the Buxa Hill Series. The last part of the trek route i.e. from Kyantlumng to Jainti is the most unexplored area of Buxa tiger Reserve and the jungles of Bhutan Himalaya.
The Jainti Mahakal is not only famous for the stalactite and stalagmite caves but also Bhutanese goempha of historical times which believed to be the rock shelter of Atish Deepankar, the preacher of Buddhism in Tibet.
